Steel & Granite Bench
Two years ago the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter went through a remodeling program. Attached to the Program was a two percent for the arts component. The arts component called for the involvement of arts in the total remodel, which allowed for local artists to submit ideas for various designated areas. My proposal was for the design and construction of three benches, which were to be placed outside the main entrance. The benches were constructed of ΒΌ inch plate steel, with a rust proof finish. The tops of the benches are 1inch granite. All structural elements on each Bench are unique, meaning no shape repeats itself.
