Tables
After the Collaborative Exhibition with the U.S.G.S I decided to put my current sculptures on hold so that I could work out some ideas that had surfaced during the making of the pieces for the Collaborative Exhibition.
I have always been interested in the cross over of ideas that exist between sculpture and functional design. It came to my attention that some of the parts I had made for one of the sculptures in the collabortive exhibit would make an interesting table. I decided that I would experiment with cardboard as a main medium and make an edition of five tables. The exterior lines are similar with the interior spaces being unique. Tissue paper applied with mat gel medium hold the textured tissue paper surfaces. Plans and ideas are formulating to continue the series using steel as the main medium.
